When I first moved to Florida, I jumped on the turnpike everyday to go to work. I cringed at the idea of having to pay everyday, but willingly gathered a collection of quarters and stored them in my car for my daily trip.  So after last night, it really made me wonder what makes a hotel stand out from the rest. Is it the room, the service, the incredible food? Right now I am sitting in my hotel room at the Four Seasons in Miami. (Yes! This is the part of my job that I love. I’ve been jumping for joy ever since I got the invite.) This evening the Morton’s in West Palm Beach hosted a special event celebrating the grand opening of Bar 12 21. Filled with plush chairs, plasma tvs and a lively crowd, this is a great place to be come 5:00 on any night of the week. The name 12- 21 is in remembrance of the 1st Morton’s that opened up on December 21, 1978. If I’m not mistaken, Bar 12 21 offers their “bar bites” from 5:00 – 6:30 and from 8:30 – 10:00 pm. David Barton Gyms take working out up a notch. With successful establishments in New York – Chelsea, New York – Uptown, Chicago, Miami at the Flamingo, his latest and largest gym will open up at Gansevoort South. Gansevoort South has created a lot of buzz lately with the opening of the resort (see my post from a few weeks ago) and with the opening of Philippe (see an excerpt from Dine Magazine).
