Worth Avenue Historical Walking Tours
Have you ever wondered who Henry Flagler or Addison Mizner were? Do you wish you knew the history behind the ever famous Worth Avenue in Palm Beach? If so, join Palm Beach’s only “two legged historical landmark” also known as James Ponce as he leads visitors and locals on a historical walking tour through Palm Beach. He is adorned with a top hat, pocket watch and walking cane and presents himself as Henry Flagler, as he shares the history of Worth Avenue and the surrounding area.
These walking tours are quite popular and will soon be transformed into a 30-minute documentary on Worth Avenue’s history starring no one else but Ponce himself. He incorporates his personal memories, as well as, photos, film clips, and live interviews to share the stories of Henry Flagler and other well-known names that have graced Worth Avenue throughout history.
Tours take place on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from October – April and in the summer months, tours will be held on the 1st Saturday (May-August). They begin in the Gucci Courtyard at 256 Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. The tours are free, but donations for the Historical Society of Palm Beach County are gladly accepted. For more information, call (561) 659-6909.

Katherine,
It’s been a while, but I once lived in West Palm Beach. I remember visiting Worth Avenue. The area was a busy place on the 4th of July. Do they still celebrate Freedom Day with fireworks and live bands on the Intracoastal Waterway? That was fun times.
The walking tour sounds like fun, too. We have several in Arizona, and Phoenix, in particular.
Jackie
