Dinner in the Sky Comes to the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek

Last year, I published an article titled “Unique Dining Experiences Around the World.” The article focused on Ithaa Underwater Restaurant located in the Maldives, Dinner in the Sky based in Belgium, and a few other once in a lifetime dining experiences. Thinking that I would never be able to experience these restaurants first-hand, I left it at that, thinking that this would just be a picture perfect story published in the magazine.

Well, yesterday I received great news. Dinner in the Sky is coming to Florida. Yes, for all those people who think they have experienced the best in dining in South Florida, think again, as this experience could knock your socks off. To explain further, Dinner in the Sky is a high flying dining experience where 22 guests are taken up to a height of 180  where they are strapped into a leather seat that’s secured to a dining table.  The entire platform is connected to a crane that performs the lift.

When Dinner in the Sky comes to Florida in December, they will be pairing up with the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek to launch the new Chef’s Table in the casino’s Fresh Harvest Restaurant. Chef’s table is a new a la carte dining option at the casino’s buffet restaurant.

Now’s your chance to experience this, as reservations are available on December 6th at either 6:30 or 8:00 pm. Call the casino at 1-866-2CASINO for more information.

Sure hope nobody’s afraid of heights!

Just learned that they will be offering trips to the public for $500 a pop. Once again, to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity contact the casino directly. I will be sure to report on my experience. :) Looking forward to it.

    Hi Katherine,

Look forward to hearing what your experience is like.

    Is that $500 per person?

Yes, $500 a person. Luckily, they’ve set some seats aside for some fortunate media and for some “VIP” and patrons of the casino.

It’s good to see bloggers being taken seriously.

You’ll be able to generate more word of mouth buzz than a standard magazine article could hope for.

Have fun, and don’t forget to fasten your seat belt. :)

Thanks for adding me. Since I have a magazine and am an active blogger, I experience it both ways. Many people still want traditional print coverage, and unless they get that they aren’t happy. But then there are some companies who really “get it” and actively invite the blogging community to press dinners, openings, trips, dinner in the sky, etc. These companies are becoming more and more plentiful everyday. :)

UGH! I can’t think of anything I would like less. Dinner in the sky looks terrifying and what if you have to use the bathroom??

Check out the website for more details…
but to answer your questions, if you have to go to the bathroom, we simply bring the table down. It takes less than one minute from air to ground.

It is actually not a terrifying experience at all. The table is lifted so slowly that you barely realize that you are in the air until you look down. It’s peaceful and tranquil when you are in the air. You get the unique 5-star resteraunt experience and you only share it with the other 21 people at your table. There aren’t other guests walking by your table, or waiters talking to other patrons, or a noisy kitchen in the background. You are merely surrounded by the “sky”!
