A few months ago, I wrote about a Champagne pedicure I had at Babor in Palm Beach. It was absolutely fabulous, one that I was sure I’d be back for, but soon after I experienced this relaxing experience, the spa closed down. I was bummed out for sure.

I recently learned of a spa experience that really got me going. Think of this — Spa Happy Hour. At the end of the week, what are you looking to do? Happy hour, a nice massage, and now think — you can have them both together in this unique spaaaalicious experience. Taking place at the Aquanox Spa at the Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach on the first Friday of the month, this is the perfect time to grap your girlfriends for that girl’s night out you’ve been wanting to take. And… since it takes place on the first Friday of every month, you have almost a month to plan this out.

At 6:00 pm, the spa switches gears and becomes an upbeat gathering place where complimentary cocktails and tempting hors d’oeuvres are passed around. In addition, the highlight is the 20-minute spa treatments available.

Blackberry Relief: If you are suffering from carpel tunnel or just need some relief for the tension in your hands and forearms, you will want to be in line for this treatment. Combined with blackberry essences, relief is on its way.
Cosmo Calves: Perfect for those who are on their feet all days. Your feet and calves will be rejuvenated just in time to put on your dancing shoes.
Martini Facial: Sit back for a customized facial, and you will be glowing for the weekend ahead.
Mojito Scrub: Time to exfoliate your hands and feet and wipe those toxins away.
Champagne Chair Massage: A scalp, neck, shoulder and arm massage — Ooh, la, la!

Spaaaa…licious! A Look at Miami Spa Month

July – as we are in the midst of summer, we are blessed with lots of humidity, rainy days and spending many hours in the AC – at least when you live in Southern Florida. For those of us who can go beyond those circumstances, there really is a lot to look forward to. The 4th of July, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and now, Miami’s very first Miami Spa Month. Now who can’t use a day at the spa? Organized by The Greater Miami Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Miami Spa Month will give you a chance to pamper yourself for pennies. (Well, $99 – that’s close enough, right?) Participating spas will be offering a special treatment to guests for the entire month. Here are some that I would recommend:

Jurlique Spa at Mayfair Hotel and Spa, 3000 Florida Avenue in Coconut Grove. They will be offering a journey to Havana which is a mojito inspired treatment. This will include a food bath, an aromatherapy massage and a Mojito sugar scrub followed by the Vichy shower water massage.
Aquanox at Trump International Beach Resort offers a 2 in one deal. The first is a Global Aromatherapy Massage using essential oils from around the world. You will then be treated to an Aquanox International Express Facial leaving your skin clean, polished and refreshed.
The Uhma Spa is offering a South Pacific Shell Massage with Aromatherapy. This massage uses hot, polished Tiger Clam shells combined with nourishing massage oils to balance your body and senses. The Uhma Spa is known for bringing people and nature together and was built under eco-responsible guidelines.
