David Barton Gyms take working out up a notch. With successful establishments in New York - Chelsea, New York - Uptown, Chicago, Miami at the Flamingo, his latest and largest gym will open up at Gansevoort South. Gansevoort South has created a lot of buzz lately with the opening of the resort (see my post from a few weeks ago) and with the opening of Philippe (see an excerpt from Dine Magazine).

According to Barton, “This new location is the first of seven gyms that I’m opening around the country over the next two years. No beach demands a rock hard body more than South Beach and no city demands a cool place to work out more than the jet set Mecca of Miami.”

This two story gym will be decorated in a North African theme with the lobby on the 2nd floor. Surrounding the lobby you will see reflections from adjacent pools. Move further into the gym and you will enter the 10,000 square foot space filled with free weights and other strength training equipment. Guests will work out to the tunes of popular DJ’s from across the country.

In addition to the signature classes such as “Melt” and “Slo-gasmic,” there will be multiple rooms for pilates, kickboxing, yoga and group exercise classes. Exclusive to this new gym, David Barton will launch his first ever David Barton Spa with first class amenities including an aromatherapy steam room, deep tissue massages, a selection of beauty treatments and a couple’s massage lounge with a gorgeous ocean view. Step outside, as the outdoor pool will feature private spa treatments. Do you actually need another reason to work out?
