Rubi Rey and the 86 Collective Art Movement

by Katherine Lynch on May 17th, 2008

BA171184.jpg Rubi Rey already known for being the first hand-crafted single barrel finished white rum has expanded its cutting edge brand into the arts category. Creating the86collective, Rubi Rey has entered into the digital arts revolution, one of the most invigorating arts revolutions in recent years. The collection will boast a gallery of 86 works created by well established and talented artists in the digital art medium arena.

According to Senior Global Brand Manager at Bacardi U.S.A., Aaron Burns, “Rubi Rey rum does do things a bit unconventionally, but we feel that tradition is meant to be challenged. With the the86collective, our mission is to challenge what stands for art in contemporary culture by introducing a progressive new generation of artists, establishing a new threshold of creativity with an edgy, experiential mix.”

This collection promotes technology as an enhancement of the creative genius present. The creative opportunities that it creates are enormous and it should be recognized and appreciated by all. This showcase of work will be present in three major cities around the country including Denver, Chicago and Miami. There will be a VIP preview for the exhibits followed by a public viewing. The top three artists will be recognized.

In Miami, the exhibit will take place at the ArtCenter/South Florida from July 18th - July 26th. The ArtCenter focuses on increasing contemporary visual arts and awareness in South Florida and this exhibit highlighting the use of contemporary media will surely enhance that.
